Exciting Day for SFChennaiDUG with the Salesforce India Tour

June 5th 2016 was an exciting day for all the members of the Chennai Salesforce Developer Group. Why? This was when the #SFIndiaTour reached the city – a day that the group members had been eagerly looking forward to. The Salesforce India Tour is part of a month-long, 14-city tour by the #1 Salesforce Influencer on Twitter Zachary Jeans. The tour focused on shining a light on the growing Salesforce community in India as well as the idea of Women in Technology. The Chennai event was held at IIIT Madras Research Park Facility and was attended by over 30 Salesforce enthusiasts.

Zachary shared the story behind why he chose India for his trip. It was also great to know that India was home to the second largest community of Salesforce developers outside of the US.  
He went on to answer questions from the crowd on varied topics like Lightning, Appexchange, social media and more.

He also spoke about the idea of starting a Women in Tech Group in Chennai. This was one of the core themes of the #SFIndiaTour and resonated across all the user group meetups that were being held as part of the tour.
This was followed by a breakout session with refreshments and networking.



There was another surprise appearance during the session from Eric Dreshfield, Salesforce MVP and Advocacy Manager at Apttus. They are the Platinum Sponsors for the SFIndiaTour and Eric shared some interesting details on the upcoming Midwest Dreamin’ event on July 21st and 22nd.

The meetup ended on a fun note with Zachary doing a Salesforce trivia rewarded by customized Salesforce India Tour stickers!
