minutes read

The trigger behind every Dreamforce till date has been the theme of “Giving Back”. Salesforce has weaved giving back into its core values. Last year, Dreamforce attendees donated more than one million books to schools and libraries around the world for children in need. This year, Salesforce has one of the greatest bands U2 and Bono and Bobby Shriver’s organisation RED collaborating to raise funds for and awareness of the fight against AIDS. Salesforce has pledged to raise a $1 million fund in support of the cause.
About RED
A non-profit founded by Bono and Bobby Shriver, (RED) makes it easier for people and businesses to join the fight against AIDS. Their goal is to make the world free from AIDS by 2020. (RED) has also been one of Salesforce.org’s long haul customers, and will have a significant representation throughout Dreamforce 2016 as a Salesforce partner.
How to Give Back at Dreamforce
At Dreamforce, there is going to be plenty of opportunities through for giving to the community. There are going to be some amazingly inspiring speakers, must-have (RED) merchandise, photo ops, and hands-on volunteer activities and of course U2!
Non Profits and Higher Ed at Dreamforce
This year, more than 8,000 attendees are registering, representing nonprofit organizations, higher education institutions, and grant-making foundations across the US and 20 other countries. The centre of activity is the Foundation Zone where more than 120 industry-focused breakout sessions, hands-on trainings, and interactive sessions will take place.
The do-good and feel-good spirit is present throughout Dreamforce with each day of the big conference highlighting a different theme- Education, Health, Diversity and Compassion. The attendees have the opportunity to get involved with some of these wonderful organizations and give back to our communities.
The most exciting element being the Gala, for the third year in a row, Dreamforce is hosting the UCSF Benefit Concert for Kids which will be headlined by U2. The Gala will be helping to raise $10 million this year in support of children’s health at the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.
So make this Dreamforce one to remember by doing the best you can to help the community. Though you get to learn a lot about the latest in technology and about the Salesforce platform, the human element in it is what is going to last longer than anything else. You will realize that there is nothing more peaceful than being able to give back and make a difference to the lives of people.
