“Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.” – Dalai Lama

This month as part of the Pledge 1% initiative, we decided to visit the Government Old age Home, Thevara. When we reached in the morning, they were all eagerly waiting to see us and spend some quality time with us. You could see the faces blooming in happiness.
We provided them with a homely breakfast. But it was not the food which excited them, they were more happy about the fact that we went there to spend time with them. We were equally happy to see all those smiling faces. Many members of the home were staying there not because they were homeless but because their very own children or family left them in the streets. They kept blessing us for showing up each time they saw our faces.
We did indeed feel blessed for being the reason behind their smile and felt this was the best way to start off a day. We entertained them with some songs and were successful in involving them too. A few of them sang while the others enjoyed blissfully. They asked us to come and spend time with them whenever possible and we promised the same. With a promise to include more programs and spend more time with them for next time, we hugged all of them and left the place all content.
