Salesforce MVP interviews

We’d like to know more about the fun side of the MVPs! And from what we heard, so do a lot of people in the community. Welcome to the Proust for Salesforce experts.

Amber Neill Boaz

Salesforce MVP

There is no way to know every corner of the platform or community so I’m always finding new stuff to learn about!

Q: How did your love for Salesforce start? Was it a conscious choice or did the whole universe just conspire and make it happen?

ninja bulletin

I was running a call center for a startup and we needed a new CRM. We picked Salesforce and as a part of preparing for the migration, I attended the ADM 201 class. About 2 hours into the class I was in love!

Q: What is your current role?

ninja bulletin

I am CRM Platform Owner for Rapid 7. We’re migrating onto the platform over while continuing to run the business. It’s a bit like doing open heart surgery on a runner while they’re running a marathon!

Q: What does being a Salesforce MVP mean to you?

ninja bulletin

It is a great honor! Every time renewals comes around I am in awe of the fantastic people that the community considers best of the best. It’s humbling to be included in this group.

Q: If not a Salesforce expert, what would you have become?

ninja bulletin

When I was a kid I wanted to build robots, teach, and be a ballerina. I figured I’d combine them to build robots that teach ballet. While I no longer dance (much), I do teach quite a bit. No robots though…which is sad.

Q: Which blogs / channels do you follow to get your Salesforce elixir?

ninja bulletin

Every one that I can find! 🙂

I use Feedly to follow blogs and Twitter lists to follow people and organizations in the ecosystem.

Q: What’s next in line for you after the coveted MVP title?

ninja bulletin

I don’t have any community goals per se. As things come up, I jump on them and make them happen as best I can.

Q: What does being a Trailblazer mean to you and how do you find inspiration amongst all the roles you have to play?

ninja bulletin

Being a Trailblazer means always learning and helping those who are learning. There is no way to know every corner of the platform or community so I’m always finding new stuff to learn about!

Q: What has been your most memorable Dreamforce experience till date? What are you looking forward to the most this #DF17?

ninja bulletin

Several years ago I got to be interviewed by Peter Coffee on the main stage just before the opening keynote. It was a VERY quick interview, but it was super fun to be in the spotlight!

Q: How did you get so involved with Non-Profits? What do you think is the best that you have done with nonprofits so far?

ninja bulletin

I’ve always been a helper. Sometimes to my detriment. Nonprofits have a special place in my heart. There are several local nonprofits that I’ve worked with to implement Salesforce and streamline their processes. That’s incredibly rewarding!

Q: Other than Salesforce, what does your world look like?

ninja bulletin

Family, volunteering, Lego building, and home improvement projects. I used to be a more consistent runner, but that has waned. I should get back into running!

Q: What’s something about you that you think would surprise others?

ninja bulletin

I did 5 years of ballet lessons and 3 years of gymnastics lessons. I had to quit gymnastics because I got too tall!

Q: Anything we missed?

ninja bulletin

Only a few short weeks until my 9th Dreamforce! Eeeeek! 🙂
